Terms of Use

Purpose

These terms govern the use of the NoteQuill app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and of the notequill.app website, published by JESSAL, a French SAS with a share capital of €2, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 939 027 959, VAT FR92939027959, whose registered office is at 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France. NoteQuill is a note-taking app powered by the AI built into your Apple device. By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms.

License

The app is licensed to you under Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA), supplemented by these terms. This license is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, for use on the Apple devices you own or control.

Requirements

NoteQuill requires iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or watchOS 26. AI features require an Apple Intelligence–compatible device with Apple Intelligence turned on. Some features also depend on the device language and the models available. Sync requires an active iCloud account with enough storage.

AI-generated content

Summaries, tasks, translations, flashcards, courses, answers and explanations produced by AI may contain errors or omissions. Check them before using, sending or relying on them. They are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise).

Homework help is a learning tool: follow your school’s rules on the use of AI.

Your content

You remain the owner of your notes and of everything you create with the app. We can’t access them and claim no rights over them.

You are responsible for the content you import, record or transcribe. Before recording a meeting, a call or a class, inform the people involved and get their consent where the law requires it. Respect the copyright of the content you import.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use NoteQuill for unlawful purposes or to infringe the rights of others, and not to attempt to bypass the free plan’s limits or the purchase mechanisms, except to the extent permitted by law.

Free plan and NoteQuill Pro

NoteQuill is free to download, with usage limits shown in the app. NoteQuill Pro removes these limits. The plans and the free plan’s limits may change: current prices are shown in the app, for your country, before any purchase.

NoteQuill Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, with no renewal.

The yearly subscription may include a free trial: unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before it ends.

Refunds

Purchases are sold and billed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple, under its terms, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t directly refund a purchase made on the App Store.

Availability and changes

We do our best to keep NoteQuill working properly, but we can’t guarantee that it is error-free or available without interruption. We may change, add or remove features. Sync depends on iCloud and AI features depend on Apple Intelligence, services provided by Apple.

Liability

Since your notes are stored on your devices and in your iCloud, back up your devices regularly. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss caused by your device, iCloud or a deletion on your part, nor for decisions made based on AI-generated content. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

Intellectual property

The app, the website, the NoteQuill name, the Quill mascot, and the texts, images and logos are protected by intellectual property law. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited, except for your own content.

Termination

You can stop using NoteQuill at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel an active subscription: cancel it in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, contact us first at support@notequill.app to find an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. If there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app.
